Doors slammed in your face. People wont listen to your songs. Friends & Family laugh at your dreams of being an artist, songwriter, producer. You’ve heard the word “No!” more times than you think you can take…
WE’VE ALL BEEN THERE.
:::take a look at the picture above:::it was taken in 2007, I believe. This group of 11 hungry hopeful artists were attending a BMI dinner called “Writer’s On The Rise”. None of us had much going on yet…we were gifted a notebook, a Tiffany pen and the opportunity to meet fellow New York City BMI writers who were chasing the same dreams of success in music.
:::Take a CLOSER LOOK at that picture now:::
I’m the dork (6th from left) in the back with the awkward smile, and insecurities).7 years later, i’ve written with my idols Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston. Shared hits with some of my favorite singers and traveled the world in the name of music.
The woman in the front with the pink suspenders and dark brown hair is Lady Gaga. yup, THE mother of the Monsters.
no need to break down her success story, its well publicized. but what a difference a few years makes, huh?
The beautiful black lady in the front with the blue jeans and black top is Frankie Storm…writer of songs like Please Dont Stop The Music - Rihanna, Do You Remember - Jay Sean, as well as songs for Britney, Enrique Iglesias, Demi Lovato, & Jordin Sparks.
this is not humble-brag or a “ha-ha-in-your-face!” thing…its to show you that hard work and perseverance WILL take you farther than you even dreamed you could go.
DO NOT ACCEPT NO FOR AN ANSWER.keep pushing, artists…keep pushing. its your job to create….and its also your job to not quit.

rofession…and I will continue to excel. Anyway, I am nowhere near the peak of my career. I am only at the cusp of “extreme” success, in my opinion. Right now, A&Rs still feel comfortable telling me “this aint hot, you can do better”…. let me tell you one thing… as soon as I get a HIT, the same A&Rs/execs that are telling me I can do BETTER, will be KISSING MY ASS and taking every song from me that they once passed on. That’s why the music industry today is full of shit. It is simply based on what’s hot on radio, whose selling records, who has the attention. This industry is so small. I am telling you now that I am going to change it. I want it to be based on REAL talent again, on HUNGER, on REAL OPINIONS, ON CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, and feeding consumers BETTER MUSIC. This cookie cutter shit aint cutting it for me. (via mickeyshiloh) i fucks with this ….. ill say the same minus 20yrs old. :) @mickeyshiloh Well Put Thursday Aug 8 @ 08:50am with 3 notes

Wednesday Nov 11 @ 04:00am with 33,968 notesTattoo artist Ryan Fitzgerald from Dayton, OH was hit with a $100,000 lawsuit last week by his ex-girlfriend Rossie Brovent. She claims that her boyfriend was supposed to tattoo a scene from Narnia on her back but instead tattooed an image of a pile of excrement with flies buzzing around it.
Apparently, Ryan found out that Rossie had cheated with a long-time friend of his, but instead of confronting her about it he acted like everything was normal and hatched a plan for revenge. Originally, Rossie tried to have Ryan charged with assault, but the ingenious tattoo artist had covered his bases by plying Rossie with wine and tequila shots and getting her to sign a consent form that stated the design was “at the artist’s discretion.”
No word from Rossie on whether the illicit night of passion with Ryan’s friend was worth it. Moral of the story? Never cheat on a tattoo artist.
